Why don’t the cops catch the real criminals? Why are they always picking on me? Well there’s a good reason for that. Take a moment and look at this slide. Believe it or not a fatality crash occurs every 16 minutes, an injury every 15 seconds, property damage every 9 seconds, and a law enforcement reported crash every 6 seconds. Whereas a murder occurs every 37 minutes, an aggravated assault 44 seconds, a violent crime every 28 seconds, and property damage every 4 seconds. Believe it or not, there are 3 time as many deaths from automobile collisions, 3 time as many injuries from automobile accidents, and 3 times as much death from property damage.

That’s why they pick on us, because we’re a bigger problem. We kill more people, we injure more people, and we cause more economic loss and damage. And on top of that, there is no revenue on the crime side. If the y convict someone murder, it’s not like the judge is gonna say, “hey you’re in prison for life no parole, and you get a $10,000 fine.” They won’t be paying that. I don’t believe that they’ll be paying anything. Sure they make 12 cents an hour, but they won’t be saving that to pay their debt. They’ll save that money to buy cigarettes. Even if they don’t smoke they’ll save it for cigarettes. They’ll use the cigarettes so they don’t get smoked. Prisons are tough.
