Reeves County is about an hour and a half west of Odessa right where 1-10 and 1-20 cross each other. Continue west for 3 hours and you will hit El Paso. Cave drawings in the area prove the county was inhabited all the way back to prehistoric times. Farmers and ranchers started arriving in the county in the 1870s. In the 1880s the railroad came through and by 1890 there were trains running from Pecos to New Mexico.
