Brownsville TX Defensive Driving Class

Common misconceptions for Texas defensive driving courses.

Are you planning on taking a traffic dismissal online course and have some questions? Our online driving safety course found at www.comedydriving.com can help with questions you may be seeking answers to. These are some misleading statements and common questions that are asked.

“Taking a ticket dismissal driving school will take away points from my driving record.”

This is a false statement. A defensive driving course can only prevent points from accumulating on your record. Once the points are there time may be the only option to make them disappear. Additionally, the points in your driving record can remain there for more than 3 years. The only sure way to prevent points from being on your records is to take a safety driving course such as the one found at www.comedydriving.com to have the violation dismissed.

“Having a lot of points on my driving record means I win! I want to have a lot of points on my record. I don’t want to have no points!”

This is definitely a false statement. Accumulating a lot of points on your Texas driving record means you will have your license suspended or revoked in the near future. You want to prevent points from getting on your record. If you have an excessive amount of points on your record you most likely will win an overnight stay at your county jail, with a free meal and roommate included.

“The court will accept my receipt or a copy of the certificate of completion for a ticket dismissal.”

This again, is false. The courts do not accept either. Almost every municipal court or Justice of the Peace court will require the original certificate of completion. If your deadline has expired, be sure to call your court immediately for possible options.

“Can I print my certificate off the internet once I complete the defensive driving class?”

The state of Texas makes it mandatory for the course providers to mail a certificate of completion either via the US Postal Service or a commercial courier. You cannot print your certificate off the internet or personally pick up your certificate from a licensed provider.
