Most Texas drivers are familiar with rumble strips. You might have only seen them along the side of the road, you might have encountered them while dosing off while you're driving, or you might have even driven a little intoxicated and accidentally drifted onto them.

In the first year that rumble strips were used on Texas highways, centerline rumble strips alone-reduced crash rates by 20%. Further research by the Texas Department of Transportation has revealed that rumble strips reduce run-off-the-road crashes by 50%.
