Using your Senses to Drive Defensively

Some people seem to think they have super senses when they're driving. Super senses like Daredevil's who is completely aware of every little thing going on around him from a noisy semi hauling down the street to a fleck of dust drifting by innocuously. These people must believe something to that effect considering what they do while driving.

The two main senses a person uses when driving are vision and hearing. Ninety-percent of your driving is based on vision, yet, there are still people who look anywhere except the roadway. They must believe they have some kind of Spider Sense, to be aware of danger, to be willing to take a risk like that.

You need to use both your vision and your hearing to be aware of what's going on around you so that you can react in the safest way possible if something goes wrong because the truth of the matter is that absolutely no one has any sort of extra-sensory perception that's going to warn them of approaching danger. So you should keep your senses focused on the road. While driving use your vision, use your hearing, and use your own super sense, common sense.
