Texas Defensive Driving Safety Information
Texas Driving Record
Some courts require you to have your driving record in order to fully dismiss a traffic violation. Texas drivers can print a copy of their driving record by going to www.texasonline.com and following the instructions there. When getting a driving record, you can get several different types of information. The following types of records can be requested through their website:
- Status Record - Includes the driver's name, date of birth, license status, and most recent address.
- 3-Year History Record - Includes the driver's name, date of birth, license status, list of accidents and violations in record within the past 3 years.
- List of All Accidents and Violations in Record - Includes the driver's name, date of birth, license status, list of all accidents and violations in record.
- Certified 3-Year History Record – This is the certified version of the 3-Year History Record. This record is not acceptable for a Defensive Driving Course.
- Certified List of All Accidents and Violations in Record - This is the certified version of the List of All Accidents and Violations in Record. This record is acceptable for Defensive Driving Course.
- Certified Abstracts of Driving Record – This is a certified abstract of the complete driving record of a license holder.
When acquiring your driving record, you should always get it through texasonline.com. It should cost you between ten and twelve dollars, depending on if you print it out or have it mailed to you. Do not use a search engine such as Google or Bing to find where to get your driving record. You will be given results that will charge you far more than you should ever pay to get your driving record.
