There are a lot of things that people do to their vehicles to intentionally draw your attention towards them in Texas. Sometimes it's visual and sometimes it's audible, but it's always distracting. People’s bumper stickers on the back of their cars are one of the visual distractions I often encounter. It's hard to resist the urge to read them.
A bumper sticker is a snapshot of what a person is like and curiosity gets the best of all of us. A bumper sticker can give you insight into what type of person the driver is. If it's an angry message then they're probably an angry driver and you should probably stay away. If it's a hopeful message then they might be a daydreamer so they may not be paying attention.
But by trying to read a bumper sticker to gain some insight on other drivers, I become a distracted and dangerous driver myself, so I save my reading for the parking lot. I have enough drunks and texters trying for my attention on the roadway the last thing I need is a tiny sticker causing me to have an accident. “It wasn’t me officer the sticker made me do it.”
